HELLO MY LOVELIES.
YOU ALL ASKED ME FOR A SKIN TUTORIAL you in fact have all never requested one, ever
SO HERE IT IS, THE WONDEROUS, MAGNIFICENT TUTORIAL THAT IS
HOW THE FUCK DO I COLOUR SKIN, SENPAI?

WELL!!!
LET ME TELL YOU LITTLE KOHAIS AND OTHERS WHO SEEMED TO HAVE STUMBLED UPON THIS
WELL
WHATEVER THIS IS. LET ME TELL YOU!!

First of all, it would be best to have a base layer and a folder above where you will set all of your colours.
Set that folder to 'clipping group' and add more folders within said folder for wahtever you are colouring
it's always best to keep yourself organized!

The next thing you want to do is really just simple, you want to make sure you have your colour pallette!
i really do suggest using the scratchpad in sai because it's REALLY great for keeping a pallette over a long period of time omg
also for mixing and so on ; v ;

OKAY SO NOW ONTO THE REALLY SIMPLE PART TBH
ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS SET DOWN YOUR BASE LAYER WHICH FOR ME IS USUALLY THE LIGHTEST COLOUR

The second part is also easy!! all you gotta do it take your first shading colour and airbrush the forehead, under the jawline
the shoulders and... where ever else you feel it be necessary i guess.
Play around with the layer settings too like put it on multiply or shade or even overlay if you want
and play with the opacity too!
for me its on Shade and 41% opacity

The next step is pretty hella easy becuase you can be pretty damn sloppy
like my spelling
you take the same shade you took for the air brush and just sloppily colour in where you think that shit would go
i again put the layer on shade mostly b/c it's easier to see

SO this step is pretty simple as well i guess
you just go over it with the water tool, play around with the brush settings until you get to something that YOU
are comfortable draw with, i only did the face do show you what i mean
i kept the opacity at 100% also so you can see a little better

MKAY So i cleaned up my first layer of shading, and lowered the opacity down to 54% and kept mine on Shade
THE next thing i did was pre much the last third step but with my second shading colour!! hella simple srsly, i just coloured less area this time. Now all you gotta do is what i did last time and play around with the water too until it's at something you like.

So keeping the layer on shade and fidling around with the water tool and opacity
i ended up lowering the opacity down to about 28%

"are we done yet senpai?"
H ahA oh billy no, not yet
The next thing i do is merg ALL of the layers down into one
(use crtl+e for Pc im not sure for mac??)
and then fiddle around with the colour/contrast filters u v u

Before the final step!!
Which is taking the darkest colour and
cell shading~~~
I added this layer as a 'shade' and lowered the opacity to 24% u v u

And FOR THE FINAL KICK
pick a hella dark colour, for me i chose a brown u v u
just put it as a clipping group over the shade and base
and lower the opacity to maybe 50-60%

Now take your water colour tool, turn it into the transparent version thing
(if you don't know how to do that, under the two squares that hold the current colour you are using ther eis a smaller square with white and grey checkers, click that)
and Block out where the light would hit the face

Skin Tut by babbyrat

Don't forget the back light u v u
NOW! just clean that up a little until you're good with it, lower the opacity or up it if you want to your liking
and t hen YOU"RE DONE~!
if you want you can ever add a layer on luminosity ae rhe side the likght hits just for a little extra u v uSkin Tut by babbyrat

and thats how i colour skin i guess???

UH just some tips like i would really suggest carying your skin tones and the shading you use!!
heres like some tiny pallette to show you what i mean

Skin Tut by babbyrat

SO REMEMBER OKAY!!
SKIN VARIES IN ALL DIFFERENT SHADES AND COLOURS
and they're all hella beautiful man

AIGHT
good luck and have fun u v u

i came out here to have a good time and i honestly feel so attacked right now
